Sustainability

SEBIR has values and a work philosophy fully focused on sustainability

Our philosophy is to continuously improve our facilities and products based on respect for the environment (ISO 14001 certified) and sustainability. We seek solutions that meet environmental challenges, in particular the reduction of the carbon footprint of both our facilities and our products.

We allocate part of our resources to improving energy efficiency (1), minimising the environmental impact of our activity (2) and developing much more sustainable products (3).

SEBIR has been working on activities (1) and (2) since 2010.

With regard to activity (3), SEBIR is committed to investing in R+D+i to develop environmentally friendly products that significantly reduce the carbon footprint, both in our own production and in the manufacture of our customers’ products.

R&D&I and more sustainable production

SEBIR has developed new wire products for cold stamping that minimise the carbon footprint, both in their production and in their use by our customers.

At SEBIR we have been pioneers in the development of these products and our experience allows us to keep one step ahead in innovative and consistent solutions.

SEBIR TSF 1: PHOSPHATE-FREE WIRES (0.0%) FOR THE DIAMETER RANGE Ø1.80 MM TO Ø 6.50 MM

Completely eliminates phosphate and other surface coatings. This innovative technology avoids the phosphating process for these wires and in turn eliminates our customers’ dephosphating process before their heat treatment, avoiding the formation of delta ferrite on the periphery of the parts and the embrittlement of their treatment furnaces. In this way, we achieve the following advantages:

SEBIR TSF 2: PHOSPHATE-FREE WIRES (0.0%) FOR THE DIAMETER RANGE Ø 6.51 MM TO Ø 27 MM

Completely eliminates phosphate using a mineral-based surface coating. This innovative technology avoids the dephosphating process for our customers before heat treatment, preventing the formation of delta ferrite on the periphery of the parts and the embrittlement of their treatment furnaces. Thus, we obtain the following advantages:

PHP: HIGH DEFORMABILITY PHOSPHATED WIRES

These are wires that allow very high deformations using phosphate-based technology and very high-pressure lubrication systems that are synergistic with those used in TSF technologies. This results in increased lubrication, ideal for the manufacture of very complex parts. By applying this technology, we manage to minimise the die consumption or, in some cases, reduce our processes at SEBIR, which makes PHP a more sustainable product.

Advantages:

PHP increases the life of deforming tools due to lower working temperatures and lower loads on the tooling due to lower friction coefficients.

Our certifications: a guarantee of sustainable management systems

In line with our philosophy of quality, respect for the environment and sustainability, SEBIR is certified in the following management systems:

  • Quality management: IATF 16949.
  • Environmental management: ISO 14001.
  • Health and safety management: ISO 45001.
  • Certification of the organisation’s carbon footprint calculation: ISO 14064.
  • Certification of product carbon footprint calculation: ISO 14067.
